Screen Display & Text Sizes

This Web-Site has been designed on an Apple Macintosh.

  • This is the standard body text size used on all pages.
  • Most Web Pages have been designed to fit the screen without the need to scroll up & down too much.
  • Windows based machines may not display the text at the size you would like.  You may like it larger.
  • Internet Explorer is the most popular Browser or Internet Viewer, but others such as Firefox, Netscape, Camino and Opera exist, and all have slightly different methods of changing the text size.
  • Increasing the text size will mean that you have to scroll up & down more frequently, and also that the Menu Bar items on the far left may spill out of their boxes.
  • You should not however have to scroll from side to side - if this happens, please advise by using our e-mail link

   To Increase the Text Size

  • Internet Explorer (Windows): Click on 'View' in the top menu toolbar. Select 'Text Size'. Select your option. The default is medium. Alternatively, if you have a mouse with a wheel you can hold the CTRL key on your keyboard whilst scrolling up or down with the wheel to alter the text size.
  • Firefox: Click on 'View' in the top menu toolbar. Then select 'Text Size' or 'Text Zoom'
  • Opera: To change the text size: Click on 'File' in the top menu toolbar. Click on Preferences, then (in the left-hand 'Category' section of the dialogue box) 'Documents'. Specify the font-size you require in the 'Minimum font size option.
  • Internet Explorer (Mac): Apple no longer supports Internet Explorer so you may find unresolvable problems when using it. Try Safari instead. Safari is available for download here. To change the text size: Click on 'View' in the top menu toolbar. Use the 'Text Zoom' feature.
