- All entries will be judged by Ross Thomson, a leading cartoonist, and winners will be notified early in November 2008.

- We hope to have refreshments available.
- This is the fifth year of our very successful Art Competition.
- This competition commemorates the life and work of Mary Wheeler who established and worked with the Society for over 40 years and who had a particular love of art.
- The Competition was open to all people with a learning disability.
- Once again there were two age groups: 18 and under and 19 and over.
- This year our three art categories were:
1.‘The Countryside – Trees and Flowers’ – a painting in any medium
2.‘Autumn’ – a collage
3.Computer Aided Art
- First, second and third prizes of £15, £10 and £5 will be awarded in each category for both age groups.
- There will be a ‘Mary Wheeler Achievement Prize’ prize of £25 together with a Trophy to hold for a year for the person who submits the most outstanding work of art.
