The most significant problems restricting Wheelchair Access to the Countryside are Stiles, Kissing Gates, Surface and Terrain.
The practicalities of installing gates
(possibly locked with Radar keys) adjacent to stiles is currently being
researched with the Mid-Sussex Park Rangers.
An initiative has been commenced with
the Mid-Sussex Park Rangers to allow Wheelchair Access to as many of
their Walks as possible.
The following walks can be adjusted to make them more suitable for
wheelchair and mobility scooter users.
Please call the Park Rangers in
advance to discuss your requirements. Tel 01444 477561
These walks are part of the "Introductory Healthy Walks" programme launched at Beech Hurst on 10th May 2008.
All walks start at 10:00 am, and are free.
